Nerve related pain or neuropathic pain is caused by trauma, disease, dysfunction or damage to the nervous system. It is initially treated by oral medication such as anticonvulsants or antidepressant medications. When these are not effective or cause additional side effects the treatment option should be spinal cord stimulation.
