Spinal Cord Stimulation

Spinal Cord Stimulation

Spinal cord stimulation (SCS), one of the most commonly utilized forms of neurostimulation, has been an established therapeutic option for a variety of neurologic conditions, including treatment of chronic pain syndromes. Spinal cord stimulation involves the insertion of 2 leads which have several electrodes incorporated into each lead into the spinal canal which serve to stimulate the spinal cord. Recent guidelines have established SCS as a safe and cost effective treatment that helps improve function and decrease pain.
